Here's how The Lancashire Telegraph scored the players' performances, with a six representing par for the course.

Leopold Walhstedt - 4

Really poor attempt to save Headley's strike which squirmed under him. Couldn't do anything about the other two but his mistake really set the tone.

Callum Brittain - 4

Didn't have much impact in the final third and then gave the ball away for Huddersfield's third.

Hayden Carter - 4

Looked all at sea whenever Burgzorg ran at him. It was too easy for him to get in-behind to square for Thomas to add the second.

Dom Hyam - 5

Was nowhere to be seen as Thomas added the second goal. Won headers and tried to progress the ball but it was a poor day for the defence.

Harry Pickering - 5

Had problems with Kasumu but wasn't the worst of the back line.

Sondre Tronstad - 5

Not the worst but can't have many complaints at being hooked at half-time. Gave the ball away and didn't move it quickly enough.

Adam Wharton - 5

At least tried to make things happen but his radar was off. One of few that looked like they might create a chance when he had the ball.

Sam Szmodics - 5

Quiet throughout and didn't get much of a sight of goal. Curled one shot over in the first half.

Andrew Moran - 4

Needs to come out of the team. He's been really quiet for a number of weeks and needs a break.

Arnor Sigurdsson - 5

Had one sight of goal with a curling effort that went over the bar. Otherwise, pretty quiet and ineffective.

Niall Ennis - 4

Didn't hold the ball up or run the channels well enough. Two games in four days looked too much for him at this stage.

Substitutes:

Lewis Travis (Moran, 45') - 6

Tried to take some responsibility and was competitive. Should be starting at Hull.

Jake Garrett (Tronstad 45') - 6

Another that worked hard and put himself about but the quality was lacking.

Semir Telalovic (Ennis, 61') - 6

Put himself about and worked hard. Deserves more of a shot.

Dilan Markanday (Sigurdsson, 66') - 5

Tried to make things happen but didn't have the confidence to go around his man.

James Hill (Hyam, 85') - N/A

Late change with Hyam protected.

Unused substitutes: Hilton, Gamble, Weston, Leonard.
