Here's how The Lancashire Telegraph scored the players' performances, with a six representing par for the course.
Leopold Walhstedt - 6
Pulled off a fantastic save at a crucial moment in the match to deny Bayo. Should've done better with his punch for Watford's winning goal.
Hayden Carter - 7
Asked to play at right-back and stuck to his task. Nice assist for Wharton with a reverse pass.
Dom Hyam - 8
It was like he'd never been away. Won every header and his distribution was excellent. Great to have him back.
Scott Wharton - 9
Continued his fantastic vein of form. Distribution has been noticeably improved after a consistent run in the team. Won every header.
Lewis Travis - 7
Asked to play completely out of position at left-back and he was superb. Didn't give Martins a kick though Asprilla proved to be a trickier customer. Played with real intensity and aggression.
Sondre Tronstad - 8
Wins so many loose balls in midfield. Another dominant performance in front of the back four.
Adam Wharton - 10
His best performance of the season. Ran the game, scored the opener and could've had another. Silky touches, hard work defensively; everything you'd want from your midfielder. A class above.
Jake Garrett - 7
Deserved to start and added energy in midfield. Should've scored a decisive second early in the second half but got the finish wrong.
Andrew Moran - 7
A better performance after looking tired in the last couple. Drifted all over the pitch to get involved.
Arnor Sigurdsson - 7
Could've celebrated his permanent move with a goal but Hamer denied him. Quieter in the second half.
Niall Ennis - 6
Worked really hard up front for an hour. Held the ball well, ran the channels. Still lacking some match sharpness but that will come with time.
Substitutes:
Harry Leonard (Ennis, 61') - 6
Played a lovely ball through to Wharton which could've yielded the second goal.
James Hill (Hyam, 67') - 6
Solid at centre-back after replacing Hyam.
Dilan Markanday (Moran, 90') - N/A
Unused substitutes: Hilton, Gamble, Duru, Weston, Blocham, Telalovic.
Referee: Dean Whitestone
Attendance: 17,803.
