Here's The Lancashire Telegraph's best guess on how Rovers might line-up against Southampton in the Championship.
Goalkeeper
Leopold Wahlstedt will once again be in goal. He arguably had his best game for Rovers in the midweek win over Bristol City.
Defence
Rovers could bring James Hill back into their defence for a tricky away match on the South Coast. The Bournemouth loanee was rested against Bristol City.
He could return at right-back, with Scott Wharton fit to partner Hayden Carter in defence. Harry Pickering will be at left-back.
Midfield
There is little argument for change in the centre of midfield. Sondre Tronstad is playing out of his skin at the moment and was again fantastic in midweek.
Adam Wharton will partner him in what is proving to be a nice blend in the middle of the park. Lewis Travis and Jake Garrett are waiting in the wings on the bench.
Attack
If Hill does return, we could see Callum Brittain move higher up the pitch as we have often seen. Andrew Moran looked tired against Bristol City and it wouldn't be a surprise if he was given a breather.
Arnor Sigurdsson will be on the left so the question is, who starts up front? Two starts in a week might be too much for Niall Ennis so Harry Leonard is well-positioned to come in up front.
Blackburn Rovers (4-3-3): Wahlstedt; Hill, Carter, S.Wharton, Pickering; Tronstad, A.Wharton, Szmodics; Brittain, Sigurdsson, Leonard.
