Jon Dahl Tomasson admitted Blackburn Rovers weren't at their best against Bristol City but was delighted to see them get over the line.
Goals from Arnor Sigurdsson and Scott Wharton in each half secured a 2-1 win at Ewood Park against the Robins. Rovers were two ahead and in control of the match but made things nervy by allowing their visitors back into the game.
Mark Sykes pounced on an error playing out from the back to make things edgy in the final 15 minutes. Rovers hung on and got the win that Tomasson felt they deserved, without being at their sparkling best.
There have been plenty of matches this season where Blackburn have dominated, failed to take their chances and been punished. The Rovers head coach was pleased this wasn't the case and praised a clinical finish from Sigurdsson which got them moving in the right direction.

"They always work hard but they really dug in today, we are delighted with the win," Tomasson said. "Probably not our best performance during the season but we were still able to win the game.
"In the first half, we were not brave enough, we turned down opportunities to play forward. Bristol (City) were defending really well and kept the pitch compact but we should have played more forward.
"We scored an excellent goal, a really clinical finish which we have been missing in the last weeks. It was a great pass in where it really hurts and we spoke about doing that more at half-time.
"Don't turn those passes down, be brave. Play forward, run forward and we started the second half really well, a well-worked corner. Great to see, I think the whole Wharton family was involved. Not just the two boys but the family in the stand, they had a great night!
"When we conceded it, it got a bit nervous and you can see we were a bit stretched. The boys dug in and they were fighting until the end for the team. When you don't play that well, it's always great to get the three points."
"It was a top finish, a really great goal," he added on Sigurdsson's strike. "The ball we played in, the combinations and a great clinical finish.
"Those goals, you can win games with those goals. We have missed plenty of opportunities this season, plenty of chances. It's great to see and two different goal-scorers."
