Scott Wharton's red card against Norwich City has been rescinded and he will now be available to play for Blackburn Rovers against Preston North End.
The defender was sent off against the Canaries in the 54th minute for 'the denial of a clear goal-scoring opportunity'. Initially, it looked as though the referee had made the right call but alternative angles showed Wharton did get some of the ball.
Rovers confirmed they would appeal the decision on Monday and submitted their evidence on Tuesday to The FA. It's now been confirmed that the appeal has been accepted, making Wharton available for Friday night's fixture against PNE.
This comes as welcome news to Jon Dahl Tomasson, who felt the red card was 'soft'. Rovers are light on options at the back due to an injury crisis.

"I only saw it from behind and from my angle, he got the ball," Tomasson added on the Wharton dismissal. "I thought he touched the ball.
"I think it's a little bit soft. I thought England was the only country in the world that wasn't becoming soft! Let's wait and see what we'll do.
"We have plenty of time to talk about it on the coach back to Blackburn and see if we'll appeal it.
Hayden Carter is out for two weeks with a hamstring injury whilst Dom Hyam is sidelined with an ankle problem. That meant James Hill would have been the only fit central defender had Wharton been suspended.
Joe Rankin-Costello is also sidelined with a hamstring injury which he went for a scan for on Monday. That meant Callum Brittain and Harry Pickering were the only senior full-backs, worsening the issue.
In all likelihood, the back four will now be Brittain, Hill, Wharton and Pickering against North End, which looks far more solid. Captain Lewis Travis had to play at right-back in the final 40 minutes at Norwich City.
