Adam Wharton has insisted he is happy at Blackburn Rovers and is enjoying playing his football under Jon Dahl Tomasson.
Rovers' boyhood star has been a regular in the first team this season, starting 11 out of 14 possible Championship games this season. Wharton was again excellent as Blackburn beat Norwich City 3-1 on Sunday, a fourth win in five league outings.
Early goals from Tyrhys Dolan and Sam Szmodics set Rovers on their way at Carrow Road. It created a toxic atmosphere, with the mutinous home crowd turning on the Canaries' players.
Rovers took full advantage and despite a red card early in the second half, they held their own. That fast start proved to be decisive as they defended their three-goal lead, limiting Norwich to very few clear-cut chances.

The win means that Blackburn have won three successive away games for the first time since January 2022. In different ways, they showed great maturity to get the three points at Carrow Road.
They helped add to an already difficult atmosphere for the home players with their performance in the first 50 minutes of the game. Wharton thought his side did a great job of turning the Norwich crowd against their own team.
"It's always massive, the first goal in the Championship," Wharton told The Lancashire Telegraph. "The first goal is always really important because teams defend their goals really well.
"To get the first one was great and then another one was even better. We exploited their space in-behind, they went man-for-man and we created a lot of chances. We could've had a few more.
"We knew it hadn't been the best situation for them recently. We knew if we started strong and got after them, we could get their fans against them.
"As soon as the first one went in, you saw the atmosphere. Anything didn't go their way, they were on their backs. It's tough as a player in that situation. The game plan was great and we executed it."
Wharton has predominantly played at the base of Blackburn's midfield, as a 'number six', with two players in front of him. However, he was given more license to attack on Sunday with Sondre Tronstad occupying the defensive midfield role.
The teenager's quality on the ball means he is integral in Rovers'' build-up play, allowing them to move out of defence and up the pitch. Against better opposition, such as Chelsea, the six role is more suited to him.
But the everyday hustle-and-bustle of the Championship, Wharton's quality is better utilised higher up the pitch, in our mind. It eases the defensive burden on him too, a side of the game he is still developing.
Wharton believes that his best role depends on the opposition Rovers are facing but enjoyed the chance to impact the final third against Norwich.
"Every footballer wants to play regular minutes and I'm getting that compared to last," he said. "The team is performing well, even if we don't get results every game, the performances are good.
"We showed that against top sides, Leicester and even Chelsea. We didn't get the result but we played well and created chances. The way the gaffer wants to play, I'm very happy.
"It depends on the game, sometimes it's better to play as a six because you see more of the ball in build-up. When I play higher up, I can have more of an effect higher up which players wants to do.
"I think it depends on the game but wherever I play, I want to give it my all and do my best for the team."
Wharton has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League. Newcastle United, Everton and Wolves have been credited with an interest, though no formal bids were submitted in the summer transfer window. It does feel like a matter of time before he becomes a top-flight player.
Playing week in, week out, is most important this season for Wharton. He insisted he remains happy as a Blackburn Rovers player, featuring for his boyhood club, and wants to ensure that continues happening this season.
"I want to play every game if I can, that's the aim. I have played a lot this season and I am enjoying it. Every footballer wants to play consistently.
"I am really enjoying it. Interest is part of it but I am happy at Blackburn. I want to be playing football and it's very easy to move and fade away. I am really happy at Blackburn, I'm getting minutes, the team is performing well.
"We're getting good results recently and that makes me happy. Playing for my country is always a bonus too but Blackburn is number one for me. It's an honour to play there too."
