Jon Dahl Tomasson admitted it was 'one of those days' in front of goal as Blackburn Rovers missed chances and were beaten 1-0 by Swansea City.

Callum Brittain missed a sitter in the first 60 seconds after turning Tyrhys Dolan's cross wide of the post. Swansea then opened the scoring through Liam Cullen, who curled in a beauty around the half-hour mark.

Harry Leonard had the best two chances of the second half but dragged one effort wide of the post and then planted a header straight at Carl Rushworth from six yards. Either side of the Swansea goalkeeper and it would've been 1-1.

Sam Szmodics also had a couple of sights at goal from cutbacks but Rovers couldn't find a way through. At the other end, Swansea had one big chance but Leopold Wahlstedt denied Jamie Paterson after Scott Wharton's error.

Tomasson felt his side started the game well but then dropped too deep after Swansea scored. In the second half, he felt they created enough to get a result.

"It was one of those days, we're extremely disappointed with the result," he said. "We started the game really well and why we weren't ahead in the first minutes, I don't know.

"We started very well the first 20, 25 minutes and then defensively there was a bit of distance between the team which wasn't good enough. We were sloppy sometimes on the ball and in the second half we were the better team.

"We created plenty of chances, good chances to win the game. It was one of those days where we were not scoring. This young team has won three on the bounce and there will be these days. We know that.

"We are disappointed with the result. First of all, we have to score the opportunities. If you score the first goal, the chances of winning are bigger. Second of all, after 25 minutes we were sloppy on the ball.

"The distances in the team were too long so it was easy to play around us. We were pleased with the second half where we were chasing a goal and created chances and kept them away from chances.

"Swansea were good at killing the game. Every free-kick, every time it went out, it took ages. They did that very well and it's difficult to make any momentum."

On the chances missed, he added: "We had Moran's shot and another Harry Leonard shot, he had two chances. Sammie had the cutbacks too.

"I am pleased with the chances we created, we can't expect more than that. I am not pleased with the 20 minutes in the first half where the distances were too long and we were sloppy on the ball.

"I've said it before, we have made good progress with this team but when there is a setback, it's important that you then make two steps forward. That's important, for sure.

"We'll be back training tomorrow and prepare for the next game. Two exciting games but with a bit of distance."
