Here's The Lancashire Telegraph's best guess on how Rovers might line-up against Swansea City in the Championship.
Goalkeeper
Leopold Wahlstedt will continue in goal with Aynsley Pears injured. The 25-year-old is still a month away and in a protective boot after picking up an ankle injury.
Defence
With Dom Hyam out for the foreseeable future, Scott Wharton looks set to come in at the back. The stand-in captain has been fantastic again this season and his absence will be a big blow.
The alternative is moving James Hill from right-back into the middle and moving Callum Brittain to right-back. Given how well Wharton did as a substitute against Millwall, I think he will get a chance to start in the league for the first time this season.
Midfield
Lewis Travis remains on the sidelines with a calf injury so the only real dilemma is whether Adam Wharton returns.
However, the balance of the midfield has worked well with Sondre Tronstad and Joe Rankin-Costello impressing alongside Sam Szmodics. As a result, I'd imagine Tomasson will resist any urge to change that department.
Attack
Harry Leonard is back in contention to be on the bench but won't start. Niall Ennis will probably join him in reserve but is pushing to be included from the off.
Callum Brittain and Tyrhys Dolan will keep their places, the only question mark is whether Andrew Moran did enough on Wednesday night to dislodge Arnor Sigurdsson. The Icelandic forward has been quiet in the last two games and was subbed for tactical reasons at half-time at The Den.
He has played a lot of football so it wouldn't be a surprise if he was taken out of the firing line. Tomasson could put Moran in his place or move Dolan out wide and start a recognised centre-forward.
Blackburn Rovers (4-3-3): Wahlstedt; Hill, Carter, S.Wharton, Pickering; Tronstad, Rankin-Costello, Szmodics; Brittain, Moran, Dolan.
