Here's how The Lancashire Telegraph scored the players' performances, with a six representing par for the course.

Leopold Walhstedt - 6

Should have done better for the Millwall goal, which squirmed through his hands. Came off his line where he could and punched a lot of balls, though some he could have caught. Didn't let the early mistakes affect his confidence.

James Hill - 8

Another excellent performance at right-back. He is growing in stature and his performances are getting better.

Hayden Carter - 8

Won a lot of headers and was often the one orchestrating from the back. Good performance.

Dom Hyam - 6

Defended well having hobbled through most of the first half. Came off at the break with an injury that is hopefully not too serious.

Harry Pickering - 7

Good defensively against Longman and then Esse.

Sondre Tronstad - 7

Struggled a little at the start but then grew into the game. He was particularly good in the second half, breaking up play and throwing himself at shots.

Joe Rankin-Costello - 7

Another lively performance in the middle of the park, a position he's making his own. Lovely interplay with Brittain for the goal, a move he then finished.

Sam Szmodics - 6

Could've wrapped the game up as a contest but he was denied by a brilliant Bialkowski save, with his shot pushed onto the bar. Worked hard as always.

Callum Brittain - 8

Took his goal so, so well, having set up the equaliser too. His first for the club and another brilliant performance.

Arnor Sigurdsson - 5

Another very quiet display from the Icelandic forward. Gave the ball away when he did have it and just wasn't at the races. Subbed at half-time.

Tyrhys Dolan - 6

Worked his socks off up front but didn't get much of a sight at goal. Looked more effective when he drifted into wide areas.

Substitutes:

Scott Wharton (Hyam, 45') - 7

Rock solid after coming on at the break. He hasn't played a lot of football this season and adapted well to a difficult scenario.

Andrew Moran (Sigurdsson, 45') - 6

Could've wrapped the game up and made it 3-1 but Bialkowski made the save.

Adam Wharton (Rankin-Costello, 76') - 6

Came on to try and help Rovers control the game but spent most of his time defending.

Niall Ennis (Andrew Moran, 88') - N/A

On for Moran as he picked up a knock late on.

Unused substitutes: Hilton, Atcheson, Garrett, Markanday, Telalovic.

Referee: Andy Davies
