Jon Dahl Tomasson is now the sixth-longest serving manager in the Championship despite being in charge for a little over 15 months.

The Danish head coach has enjoyed a fantastic start to life at Ewood Park and has now only been in position for a shorter period than a quarter of the division. 18 of the 24 teams changed their bosses last season, with some on multiple occasions.

It's another sign of the bonkers division. Gary Rowett parted company at Millwall on Wednesday night just days before his four-year anniversary. The Lions boss was second only to Mark Robins at Coventry City for longevity.

His exit has bumped Tomasson up a place to sixth. Two of those ahead of him are Steven Schumacher and Kieran McKenna, who were promoted last season with Plymouth Argyle and Ipswich Town.

So of those that were in situ at Championship clubs when Tomasson took the reigns at Rovers, only three managers have been in longer. That is Robins, Nigel Person of Bristol City and Ryan Lowe at Preston North End.

Four second-tier clubs have already rolled the dice this season. Danny Rohl replaced Xisco Munoz at Sheffield Wednesday, Darren Moore is in for Neil Warnock at Huddersfield Town and Wayne Rooney is the new Birmingham City manager. Millwall are of course now searching for a new appointment as well.
