Jon Dahl Tomasson admitted the decision to rule out Andrew Moran's goal was a 'strange situation'.
Blackburn Rovers fell to a fourth successive Championship defeat as they lost 1-0 to Coventry City. Hadji Wright's late header earned the points for the Sky Blues in an otherwise tight game.
Rovers thought they had gone ahead midway through the second half but eventually, the goal was ruled out. Referee Jeremy Simpson had initially given Moran's strike, who challenged goalkeeper Ben Wilson for a loose ball.
The Brighton&Hove Albion loanee then prodded in and the goal was given. However, after consulting with his linesman, the goal was then ruled out.

"I don't know, from my distance," Tomasson said. "It was a strange situation, wasn't it?
"It was very strange. I think the referee didn't have a clue if it was a goal or not. The linesman did nothing and then suddenly after a short chat, it was a free-kick.
"I haven't seen it back. We will have to see it back. After that, we have a very big moment, one-vs-one with the goalkeeper, maybe two-vs-one with the goalkeeper.
"We could've been 1-0 up, it was a good performance from our players."
Rovers' fourth successive Championship defeat leaves them 20th after 10 Championship games on 10 points. Despite another disappointing result, Tomasson was pleased with the performance of his players.
"I am very disappointed with the result but I saw a very good team," Tomasson said. "Great togetherness, great spirit against a good opponent in an away game.
"I think we were solid in everything we did, with the ball, without the ball. We created chances and we had big moments where we should have done better.
"We need to be clinical in the box to get results but I think the boys played an excellent game. If we keep doing this and we will, then we will get some results.
"We did good but we didn't get a result. We have to thank our fans, in a midweek away, they were behind the team."
Arnor Sigurdsson had the best chance for Blackburn but he miscued his one-on-one chance in the second half. James Hill also hit the crossbar with a brilliant strike in the first half.
