Jon Dahl Tomasson has insisted Semir Telalovic needs time to adjust to life at Blackburn Rovers as he waits for a first Championship start.
The deadline day summer signing is yet to make a league start for Rovers, coming off the bench in their last three league fixtures. He did start in the Carabao Cup against Cardiff City last Wednesday, offering him the chance to get minutes into his legs.
With Harry Leonard, Niall Ennis and Sam Gallagher all out, Telalovic is Rovers' only fit, recognised number nine. Sam Szmodics played in a withdrawn striker role against Leicester City.
The 23-year-old wasn't introduced until the final 10 minutes, shortly after Leicester had scored their third goal. Tomasson has again reiterated that he deserves time to adapt to his surroundings and gave a little bit of insight into the finer details they're working with Telalovic on.

"He's a young boy, he is unproven at this level and we have to give him time," Tomasson said before the Leicester match. "He is working extremely hard.
"He could've scored a goal against Cardiff, he had a good chance to score. It was a great ball from Dilan Markanday and he ran a little bit to the left instead of to the right.
"That gave the defender the opportunity to tackle him. If he ran to the right then he couldn't have tackled him. These are the small details that we are looking at.
"We look at football, each part and things we can improve and what he does well. I like the energy that the boy is giving me, he is hungry.
"We shouldn't forget he's coming from a different league, a different level, a different country. He is unproven so we need to give him the chance (to settle)."
Ennis has returned to training this week and, along with Leonard, should be available after the interntional break. Tomasson has Tyrhys Dolan, Sam Szmodics and Arnor Sigurdsson as false nine options should he choose to leave Telalovic on the bench against at Coventry City.
