Here's The Lancashire Telegraph's best guess on how Rovers might line-up against Leicester City in the Championship.
Goalkeeper
It is an interesting dilemma for Jon Dahl Tomasson as to whether he sticks or twists in goal. Aysnley Pears' position has come under scrutiny in recent matches.
Leo Walhstedt came into the team on Wednesday night and conceded twice, though both goals were good finishes that he could've done little about.
Tomasson has not dropped or changed his goalkeeper since coming into the club. The decision to swap Thomas Kaminski for Pears was forced upon him by injury and then the latter kept his place. However, he confirmed at his press conference that it will be Pears in goal.
Defence
There was plenty of change in defence during midweek, with Callum Brittain and Harry Pickering rotating 45 minutes each. Joe Rankin-Costello is still knocking on the door to earn his place back in the team.
James Hill and Scott Wharton are pushing Hayden Carter and Dom Hyam for starting spots. Hill's assist for Jake Garrett's opener on Wednesday night showed his quality on the ball and why he is so highly rated.
I think Rovers' first-choice pairing will get another chance though. Tomasson likes consistency and I think he'll avoid too many changes.
Midfield
Despite the issues in midfield against Ipswich, I think it'll be the same first-choice midfield again.
Tomasson has shown little intention to change his attacking ways and so it'll be Lewis Travis and Sam Szmodics in front of Adam Wharton attempting to cause chaos for Leicester.
Attack
The biggest question marks in the selection are in attack. Rovers have a decision to make in the wide areas and up front.
Harry Leonard's injury offers a dilemma. Will he go with a flase nine or does Semir Telalovic start his first Championship game?
Is Arnor Sigurdsson ready to start three games in a week? Though he's only played 105 minutes, Tomasson has stressed the importance of protecting him. I think that decision will come down to how he feels after Wednesday. The extra day of recovery could be a blessing.
On the right, it's a straight shoot-out between Andrew Moran and Dilan Markanday. Both were on the scoresheet against Cardiff and impressed.
I think Markanday will start on the right with Moran behind Szmodics and Sigurdsson on the left in a fluent attack.
Blackburn Rovers (4-3-3): Pears; Brittain, Carter, Hyam, Pickering; A.Wharton, Travis, Moran; Markanday, Sigurdsson, Szmodics.
