Phil Jones has revealed he has begun working with the Players' Football Association and is working on his coaching bages after leaving Manchester United.
The Blackburn Rovers academy graduate was released by United after 12 years at the club. Jones left Rovers to make the move and made over 200 appearances, though very few in recent time after troublesome knee injuries.
Jones has not openly discussed his future, or whether he'd retire, since leaving United. At the age of 31, he could easily keep playing if he is able to stay fit.
However, Jones has not retired from playing but is using his time as a free agent to plan for the future by starting a PFA sporting director course. He also explained that he is working towards his A license, hinting at a coaching career in the game.

“Start of a new journey,” Jones posted on social media.
“Great to begin the global football sports directorship course with the PFA business school, learning new things about the game, whilst also continuing to push ahead with my A licence and badges at the club that gave me so much. Excited to get started.”
Jones has also been present at Manchester United's Carrington training ground to 'observe' training sessions. There was speculation he had returned to the club as an under-18s coach but that was wide of the mark.
