Jon Dahl Tomasson will assess Arnor Sigurdsson ahead of facing Ipswich Town after he played 75 minutes for the Under-21s on Wednesday night.
Whilst the first team were beaten 3-1 at Ewood Park, Mike Sheron's side kicked off their Premier League International Cup campaign against Hertha Berlin. Sigurdsson started alongside Sondre Tronstad, Jake Batty and Zak Gilsenan from the first-team group.
Rovers were beaten 2-0 by the German side but, perhaps more importantly, Sigurdsson came through unscathed and played 75 minutes as he stepped up his recovery from a groin injury
Tomasson has insisted will not rush his recovery and will get reports from the coaching and medical teams today to determine his progress. Supporters are eagerly awaiting a first glimpse at the summer signing and hope he could be involved at Portman Road on Saturday.

"I haven't seen the game yet, I will do that tomorrow," Tomasson told The Lancashire Telegraph. "I will get the report from the coaches and the medical report in terms of the loads.
"He is getting closer. He is progressing well."
Sigurdsson has been out of action for over two months after surgery on his groin. He initially sustained the injury before joining Rovers and the issue flared up again during their pre-season warm-weather camp in Austria.

Tronstad played an hour for the 21s with James Edmondson selected ahead of him on the bench against Sunderland. It's understood Tomasson felt the midfielder needed game time and he was better served featuring for the U21s than potentially being an unused substitute.
A goal in each half condemned Sheron's side to a 2-0 defeat at Leyland. They play French side Nice in their next match on October 11, during the international break, before hosting PSV just over a month later on November 15.
