Dom Hyam has been named as a finalist for the Championship Player of the Season prize at the 2023 North West Football Awards.
Hyam already picked up the Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year trophies at Rovers’ End of Season Awards night in May.
The centre-back had a big impact in his first season at Ewood Park, making 42 appearances in all competitions following his move from Coventry.
He is now up against Burnley midfielder Josh Cullen and Preston North End goalkeeper Freddie Woodman.
Adam Wharton is also up for the Rising Star prize following an impressive debut campaign at Rovers. The 19-year-old midfielder made 22 appearances in all competitions last term, scoring twice.
Meanwhile, Jade Richards is in the running for the Women’s Player of the Season trophy and Niamh Murphy is up for the Women’s Rising Star award.
The annual event takes place at Emirates Old Trafford in Manchester on Monday, November 6.
An official spokesperson said: “The NWFA 2023 will see awards presented to those who have achieved footballing excellence, both on and off the pitch from grassroots level through to our footballing elite.
“The player nominations for the 2023 Northwest Football Awards showcase the immense hotbed of talent that exists in both the women’s and men’s games across our region.”
