Hull City hope to have Harry Vaughan and Ruben Vinagre back available for Saturday’s clash with Rovers.

The pair were absent from the squad during last weekend’s 4-2 victory against Sheffield Wednesday due to injury.

Vaughan made his Championship debut at Ewood Park last season. The 19-year-old joined the Tigers from Oldham earlier this year.

In their absence, Jason Lokilo played on the left of midfield after joining from Dutch club Sparta Rotterdam and Jacob Greaves moved to left-back.

Meanwhile, Allahyar Sayyadmanesh remains sidelined with a calf issue and Greg Docherty is still recovering from a knee problem picked up in pre-season. Dogukan Sinik has also suffered an injury setback.

Ozan Tufan scored a hat trick against the Owls last weekend, with Aaron Connolly also getting on the scoresheet.

“I’ve got to give the players all the credit in the world. They were fantastic from start to finish,” said head coach Liam Rosenior.

“They responded brilliantly and also by how I want to build as a club. In my opinion, it was complete domination from start to finish.

“That was not a 4-2 win. We should not have conceded a second and it should have been more.

“If you look at us now, we are much fitter and more front-footed as a team. We must stay consistent and keep working but there are some really positive signs.”

The Yorkshire club were beaten 2-1 by Norwich on the opening day and also came up short against Doncaster in the Carabao Cup opening round.

The points were shared when Rovers faced Hull at Ewood Park last season following a tense goalless draw. Sam Szmodics scored the decisive goal in a 1-0 victory at the MKM Stadium last October.

Rovers have lost just one of their last eight matches against the Tigers – a run stretching back to January 2018.
