Burnley have confirmed the signing of French Under-20 international Wilson Odobert from Troyes.

The 18-year-old has put pen to paper over a five-year deal at Turf Moor and joins of ran undisclosed fee.

Odobert came through the ranks at Paris Saint-Germain but turned down a professional deal last year to play first-team football at Troyes.

The winger scored four goals in 32 appearances last season, making a positive impression in the French top flight.

“The project here excited me, I really liked it. The manager, the team, the town. I really love it and it’s a really good project for me,” he told the club website.

“I want to play as much as possible at Burnley. Do as well as I can with the team, stay in the team and play the best I possibly can for the club.”

Vincent Kompany’s side kicked off the new Premier League campaign with a 3-0 defeat against champions Manchester City at Turf Moor last night.

Erling Haaland bagged a brace, with Rodri adding a third after the break for last season’s treble winners.

Burnley are back in action on Sunday, August 27 when they host Aston Villa. The Clarets were due to head to Luton on Saturday, August 19 but that fixture was postponed due to the work going in at Kenilworth Road.
