Rovers’ fixture list has been revealed for the upcoming Premier League 2 campaign.
Mike Sheron’s side begin with an away fixture against Chelsea at Kingsmeadow Stadium on Friday, August 11 (7pm).
Rovers’ first home game is against Leicester City on Sunday, August 27 at the Lancashire FA County Ground in Leyland.
Sheron’s side wrap up the calendar year with a trip to Wolves on Monday, December 18 and kick off 2024 against Crystal Palace on Sunday, January 14.
Rovers conclude the season with a trip to Everton on Monday, April 15 before hosting Sunderland on Sunday, April 28.
The previous system split Category One clubs into two divisions but this will now be replaced by a 26-team league.
Teams were seeded based on their performances over the past three years and fixtures were drawn out of five pots based on the seeding.
A 20-game week scenario will see Rovers face each club in their own pot as well as three to five teams in all other pots.
After these fixtures have been completed, the top 16 teams will quality for the knockout stage which will follow a single elimination format.
Teams will only be able to field four overage outfield players and one overage goalkeeper during the 2023/24 campaign.
Additionally, there is no longer an obligation for clubs to host at least three matches at their main stadium.
Teams can mutually agree to reschedule fixtures but they must be played during the designated weekend, which spans from Friday to Monday.
The only exception to this rule is if a game is postponed or abandoned due to weather conditions or any other reason beyond control.
Rovers will also be competing in the Premier League Cup and Premier League International Cup over the coming season, with further details to be announced in due course.
