Burnley have completed the signing of Leyton Orient goalkeeper Lawrence Vigouroux on a three-year deal.

The 29-year-old shot stopper played a key role as Richie Wellens’ side clinched the League Two title last season, making 47 appearances in all competitions.

He bolsters the Clarets’ goalkeeping ranks following the departures of Will Norris and Lukas Jensen at the end of their respective deals.

Vigouroux says joining Burnley was "the right step" in his career and hopes he can make a positive impression.

“It’s amazing to be here," he told the club website. "An unbelievable training ground to be a part of and I’m really happy!

“You only have to look around where we’re working and training every day.

"This was the right step and the right way to go. Hopefully, I can leave an impression here.”

The goalkeeper had spells at Brentford and Tottenham as a youngster before joining Liverpool's ranks in 2014.

He went on to play for Swindon and Waterford - as well as a stint in Chile - before heading to Orient in January 2020.

Vigouroux won the Player of the Year award in all three of his seasons at Brisbane Road.

Manager Vincent Kompany has been impressed with the shot stopper and is looking forward to working with him at Turf Moor.

“We are looking forward to Lawrence being part of what we are building here at Burnley," he added.

“He has come through top academy systems to become the player he is today with stand out performances in recent years.

“He is a very talented goalkeeper with a good personality and someone we will enjoy working with.”
