Niall Ennis is already loving life at Rovers – and is determined to make an impact over the coming season.
The 24-year-old forward penned a four-year contract at Ewood Park last month after helping Plymouth clinch the League One title.
Ennis scored 14 goals in 45 appearances for the Pilgrims last term but turned down the offer of a new deal at Home Park.
He has been getting to know his new team-mates over the past few days after the Rovers squad returned to pre-season training.
The former Wolves youngster reckons it was important to get the move done early as he adjusts to his new surroundings.
“Obviously, you know what to expect for pre-season - there’s going to be running,” Ennis grinned. “But it’s just nice to meet my team-mates, the staff and obviously the gaffer.
“It’s nice to look around the training ground and get to know all the staff in the building.
“The move got done early and I feel like that helped a lot because I’ve already sorted out where I’m going to be living.
“I can just focus on the football side of it now and I’m enjoying it. It has only been short but I have enjoyed it so far.”
Ennis came through the ranks at Wolves and went on to have loan spells at Shrewsbury, Doncaster and Burton before making the move to Plymouth for an undisclosed fee in January 2021.
The forward is eager to keep learning and improving as he begins a new chapter in his career
“I’ve come here and I’m trying to just absorb all the information I can and improve as a player,” he added. “The team has a goal of where they want to get and I want to play my part.
“I need to listen to the manager and all the staff like the sports scientists because I want to be in shape and fit enough to play for this team, and I want to play.”
