I THINK Paul Ince will be an even tougher manager than Mark Hughes.
He'll bring with him a discipline that will be even stricter than Mark's. He's well known in the game for being a tough player and a leader and I think he'll bring that same mentality to Rovers.
The board have been brave and you've got to applaud them for going outside the managerial merry-go-round and appointing a young up-and-coming manager.
Ince is a man who will definitely get the respect of the players. You saw that through his playing career at Manchester United, Inter Milan and Liverpool.
This is a big challenge for him though. First there's the job of trying to fill Mark Hughes' shoes and then, of course, there's the millstone round his neck that he's the first English black manager in the Premier League.
If anyone can do it though, I'm sure it's Ince.
He'll have his own ideas on how he wants the game played and I've no doubt there will be some changes in personnel at Ewood Park.
I don't think he will be able to persuade David Bentley to stay, and Roque Santa Cruz is another who is attracting the attentions of the top four.
One thing is for certain though, if there are players who don't want to play for Ince, then he'll let them go.
He'll be 100 per cent committed to the job at Rovers, and he'll only want players with a similar desire to play for him.
