Hull boss Liam Rosenior felt his side’s goalless draw against Rovers at Ewood Park was “probably a fair result.”
Tyrhys Dolan went closest to breaking the deadlock in the first half, dragging wide of the near post from eight yards.
After the break, Allahyar Sayyadmanesh could have put the visitors in front but failed to hit the target.
Rosenior was happy to settle for a point against a side pushing for a play-off spot but felt they could have made more of their opportunities in the final third.
“I am (satisfied). We had some moments where we could have done better, especially in transition,” he told Sky Sports.
“I keep saying we are so close to being such a good team at this level. We came to Blackburn and I thought some of the football we played was excellent.
“Some of the football they played was excellent as well, I thought it was a good game between two good footballing teams. They had chances, we had good chances so all in all a draw was probably a fair result.
“We started the second half unbelievably. From the kick off, we had a great chance and it just gives you confidence. In the first half, Blackburn kept the ball for about two minutes and it gave them confidence.
“After that, for 20 or 25 minutes we were in the ascendancy. I expected them, with the position they are in, to throw the kitchen sink at the end. I just felt there were so many good moments where we just didn’t make that final pass.
“But another clean sheet, we are difficult to beat and I think we are playing some good football as well.”
The result sees Rovers climb back into the top six, although they missed an opportunity to gain ground ahead of a tough run-in on paper.
Meanwhile, Hull find themselves 15th in the table and have drawn four of their last five league matches.
