Rovers player ratings from the 3-1 win against Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road
Aynsley Pears 7
A credit to those infront of him meant he had little to do. Given no chance with the goal, but kept his concentration levels to ensure it was another drama-free afternoon.
Joe Rankin-Costello 8
A player at the peak of his powers, and getting the platform to show the talent that has never been unquestioned. A crossfield ball saw him have a hand in the first goal, while he made the second a piece of improvisation. Joy to watch his resurgence.
Hayden Carter 7
Given a tough time up against the experienced Martin, and will have been disappointed not to have done more in the lead-up to the equaliser, but improved as the game wore on.
Dom Hyam 8
Was the calm and assured figure Rovers needed, winning three headers and making seven clearances.
Callum Brittain 8
A quietly efficient game, making a game-high eight tackles and stood up well against the link-up of Lowe and Kakay. Kept things simple on the ball and looked full of running until the end.
Lewis Travis 8
A superb reverse pass set up the second goal and was never far from the action as he returns to his snarling best.
John Buckley 7
Signs that his confidence is starting to come back, with good work on and off the ball. A few lapses late on when things began to look a little easy for him.
Sorba Thomas 7
Wasn’t involved in much of Rovers’ attacking play as he would have liked, but did force a save out of Dieng with a second half free kick. Keeping his width on the right flank does compliment Rankin-Costello well.
Sam Szmodics 8
Took his goal nicely in what proved to be the pivotal moment of the game. Managed only 18 touches, but that didn’t stop him being a goal threat, a first half snap-shot going just wide, while he was won full of running throughout.
Tyrhys Dolan 7
Had a hand in the first goal, as his shot was deflected into the path of Gallagher, and went close himself after the break with a left foot shot. Stuck his task well defensively, tracking back against the lively Kakay.
Sam Gallagher 8
A performance that should give him confidence, scoring twice while leading the line, and ending his four-month wait for a goal. Seized the moment in the box with two close range finishes, and helped give Rovers an outlet at the top end of the pitch.
