Stanley boss John Coleman felt his side were on the wrong end of a couple of major decisions during their 2-0 defeat against Bolton in the Papa Johns trophy semi-final.
Elias Kachunga and Aaron Morley were both on target as the Whites secured a Wembley final against Plymouth.
The hosts had earlier been reduced to 10 men when Seam McConville was sent off for a reckless challenge on Conor Bradley.
“I don’t think it’s a red card and I don’t think anyone thinks it’s a red card,” Coleman told BBC Radio Lancashire.
“I think people are thinking it because they have seen it in real time and it was quick. There are no studs raised.
“It is not a straight leg. It is not endangering an opponent. He has clipped him on the side of the knee. The lad has tried to run past him and Sean has tried to stop him.
“He has certainly not hurt him. But I am not paid to make those decisions, the referee is. I think if he looks at it again he will think it’s a bit harsh.”
Liam Coyle was stretchered off following a collision with James Trafford during the second half, and Coleman felt the goalkeeper was fortunate to remain on the pitch.
The manager said: "I'd feel better if the referee didn't give him any card if he's just deemed it as an accident, but he's used excessive force and he's got to go. It's a sending off, but I don't make them decisions.

He added: “He had longer to make the decision on James Trafford and he's chosen not to. I think when James Trafford looks at it again, he'll think that he shouldn't have done what he did.”
