The Rovers squad is feeling the effects of the busy schedule with four players currently struggling with hamstring injuries.
Daniel Ayala added his name to that list when forced off at half time, with Hayden Carter on in his place having dropped to the bench as Jon Dahl Tomasson reverted to a back four in the win over Blackpool.
Ahead of the game, Harry Pickering joined Ben Brereton and Bradley Dack in missing out with the same injury.
Dack will be until the March international break, though the hope is that Brereton could be in contention for the weekend trip to QPR.
Left back Pickering meanwhile is a doubt as Rovers assess the extent of his injury, as will be the case with central defender Ayala.
With goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski and defender Scott Wharton already out, Rovers are counting the cost of a busy period of games, with still two more to play in the month of February.
“It's been a tough schedule against good opponents,” Tomasson said.
“The levels of the games have been very high.
“The pitch is tough to play when it rains a lot. It's a soft pitch and it drains a lot of energy, it was a massive load for everyone.”
Joe Rankin-Costello came back into the side after missing the Swansea win through injury, while spaces opened up in the matchday 18 for Jake Garrett and Jack Vale to make their returns.
Into the starting line-up came Callum Brittain and Sam Szmodics who both spent time on the sidelines since their last Championship starts on December 10.
“It’s about the team, it’s about the group,” Tomasson added.
“I’ve told you many times there isn’t one player who is frozen out, it’s about performing in training, using the whole squad because if we should have a chance we need to use all the players and have all the players up to speed.
“As you can see Sammie and Callum haven’t played for a while, the last game was Preston, and the way they played a big compliment to those two lads for the way they prepared with the internal games and sometimes Under-21s games.”
