Stanley have received a £5,000 fine and for “misconduct in relation to crowd control” during Wanderers 3-2 victory at the Wham Stadium in October.
The Reds suffered a 3-2 defeat against their North West neighbours despite goals from Shaun Whalley and Ethan Hamilton either side of half time.
Stanley were charged by the FA in December for allegedly failing to ensure supporters did not use insulting language with reference to “sexual orientation”.
In addition to the fine, the club will also have to implement an action plan to prevent a repeat of such behaviour. Bolton again make the trip to the Wham Stadium later this month for the Papa John’s Trophy semi-final.
An official statement read: “The club would like to remind supporters that there is a zero-tolerance approach to any and all forms of discrimination.
“Anyone caught behaving in a way which is improper, offensive, abusive, indecent, or insulting with either express or implied reference to sexual orientation will be removed from the stadium and issued a club ban.
“The club will be making no further comment at this stage.”
