Burnley Clarets ended the walking football year with two trophies in the bag.
The club’s over-60s outfit added the Greater Manchester Walking Football League Division 4 autumn season title after finishing runners-up in the spring season.
Going into the final round of matches level on points with Moston Brook at the top, the Clarets won their first three matches 2-0, including a win over Moston, to clinch the title.
The over-65s section were in a four-team scramble for second spot in Division 3 of their league, but fell short by two points, after missing out in runners-up in the spring season on goal difference.
It was the club’s first year in the GMWFL, and for the coming spring season will be entering an over-70s team as well.
The club is self-supporting and trains at the Leisure Box in Brierfield.
However managers Graham Hill and John Walton were pleased to clinch a kit sponsor in Karl Greenwood of EPC Local (Burnley) Ltd.
