Rovers continue their busy Championship schedule as they take on Michael Carrick’s in-form Middlesbrough side.
Jon Dahl Tomasson’s men will be aiming to bounce back from their late 2-1 defeat against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.
Meanwhile, Boro enter the game on the back of an emphatic 4-1 win against Wigan after a hat trick from former Arsenal youngster Chuba Akpom.
The North East club have won four of their last five matches and currently sit 11th in the table – six points behind Rovers.
When and where is the game being played?
The fixture takes place at Ewood Park on Thursday, December 29 (7.45pm). Tomasson’s men ran out 2-1 winners at the Riverside earlier this season, with Sam Gallagher bagging a brace that day.
Rovers also came out on top when the sides met in East Lancashire last season, with Gallagher again on target.
Middlesbrough have failed to win any of the last seven matches between the sides, with their last victory coming in February 2019 after Derrick Williams was sent off.
