Ryan Lowe says Preston North End’s positive approach paid off during their 4-1 win against Rovers at Ewood Park.
Ched Evans bagged a brace for the visitors, with Ben Woodburn and Ben Whiteman also getting on the scoresheet.
Lowe says they had identified areas where they could “jump” Rovers in possession and was delighted with how his players executed the gameplan.
He told Sky Sports: “Some people might call it brave but Ben Woodburn is one of the best counter-pressing footballers you will see, and DJ is (Daniel Johnson) as well.
“He doesn’t really play in that number 10 position much for us much, he is usually at eight.
“We just felt if Ched can get hold of the ball and send them one way - we worked the gameplan spot on, I must say.
“Credit to the group because they took it on board. That is what we want to try and do against teams who we feel we can do that to.
“Blackburn are a fantastic team, they have got some good players. We knew they would play in areas where we could try and ‘jump them’, and that is certainly what we did.”
Bradley Dack gave Rovers fans some hope 10 minutes after the break, firing home to get his side back in the game.
Lowe added: “We felt we had given them an opportunity. I thought we were unbelievable in terms of the final third, getting shots away and creating some opportunities.
“Defensively, we were sound but one ball and Pottsy (Brad Potts) has tried to see it out. Diaz has just got a touch to it and given Dack an opportunity to score.
“But we have got belief in the group and the third goal was vital.”
Rovers are back in action next weekend when they make the long trip to Carrow Road to take on Norwich City.
