Steve Waggott says Rovers will consider involving supporters in the design of the club’s shirt for the 150th anniversary season.

Rovers will reach the milestone in November 2025, with the club’s chief executive outlining that ideas would be publicised with supporters ahead of the shirt launch.

Waggott was asked at the club’s recent fans’ forum meeting whether supporters could have an input in the design of the shirts.

Rovers are into the second season of their five-year deal with Italian manufacturers Macron who replaced Umbro in 2021 as supplier of the club's kit and training wear.

However, designs for the 2023/24 season have already been agreed so to meet manufacturing times, with a host of EFL clubs having had issues with deliveries in the last two years.

Yet Waggott said the club would look to publicise designs with supporters ahead of the 150th anniversary.

The club could choose, as it did in 2000 to mark the 125th anniversary, to launch a special shirt for the home game nearest to the date Rovers were formed.

Equally, they could opt to incorporate the anniversary in the release of the 2025/26 shirts.

Last season, Rovers marked the club’s 146th anniversary with a special offer on tickets of £14.60.

That extended to away supporters, with Sheffield United the visitors on that occasion as Rovers won 3-1 infront of a crowd of 17,291.

Waggott was disappointed that Rovers fans were charged £31 for the return fixture at Bramall Lane, despite the offering to Blades fans at Ewood.

That’s why he’s hoping to reach a reciprocal deal with Huddersfield Town, with tickets for the game at Ewood Park reduced to £18.75 when the club marks their 147th anniversary on November 5.

Rovers travel to the John Smith’s Stadium to face the Terriers on Easter Monday.

Waggott was also asked about any proposals to rename the Riverside Stand at Ewood Park in tribute to Tony Parkes.

However, Waggott said the more likely outcome would be naming a facility at the Senior Training Centre at Brockhall, or a lounge at Ewood Park, after Parkes.

The minutes outline that further discussions would need to be held over the proposal which has been widely discussed on social media.

Elsewhere, it was revealed that season ticket sales stood at 8,779 ahead of the upcoming half-season ticket offering.

Waggott also said that while the club were happy with the principle of installing safe standing, the cost of installation would make it unlikely.
