Blackburn Rovers striker Matt Derbyshire has been left out of Stuart Pearce's squad for the Under-21 friendly against Wales on May 15 at Wrexham.
Derbyshire has been rested along with Steven Taylor, Tom Huddlestone and Aaron Lennon, while Nedum Onuoha is injured.
Middlesbrough centre-back David Wheater, Manchester City midfielder Michael Johnson and West Ham's Mark Noble were named in the 23-man squad along with Theo Walcott and Gabriel Agbonlahor.
QPR defender Matt Connolly earned a call-up and Martin Crainie was back in the squad.
