BURNLEY will almost certainly have to wait until next season before reviving their promotion ambitions after this disappointing show at Carrow Road.
The Clarets struggled to recover from the early blow inflicted by Dion Dublin, when the veteran found himself completely unmarked to put Norwich in front after just 61 seconds.
It looked like staying that way, despite the Canaries carving out a host of chances. But second-half substitute Ched Evans put the win beyond doubt in stoppage time to ease their relegation fears.
Kyle Lafferty squandered a couple of good openings for the Clarets, while Joey Gudjonsson brought a good save from David Marshall before the break.
But Burnley can have no complaints about the outcome.
