ALEX MacDonald has only been training with the first team for a fortnight, but he hasn't shied away from dressing room banter.
And manager Owen Coyle believes his cheeky edge will stand him in good stead, even though he was the butt of it after scoring a brace in the reserves' 7-1 win over Morecambe.
"After the game all you could hear was his voice in and amongst these senior pros, so I gave him a bit of stick and said 'you want to quieten down a bit and take a check. You've only played a handful of games, just remember yourself'," explained the Clarets boss.
"As I was walking away, he turned to David Unsworth and said 'scored a couple have we?', which I thought was great.
"He's very respectful of senior pros but equally he's confident enough to know he's got a chance and he'll join in the banter, and that's certainly something I would embrace."
