Burnley are back in Championship action as they make the short journey to the DW Stadium to take on Wigan Athletic.
Vincent Kompany’s men enter the game on the back of a 1-0 win against Shrewsbury Town in the Carabao Cup thanks to Samuel Bastien’s second-half strike.
Team news
Chelsea loanee Ian Maatsen remains suspended after he was shown a straight red card in the 3-3 draw against Blackpool.
Vitinho slotted in at left-back against Shrewsbury in Maatsen’s absence, with Charlie Taylor remaining at centre-back.
Scott Twine and Kevin Long are nearing returns but Saturday’s fixture could come too soon for the pair.
As for the hosts, defender Joe Bennett is available after his red card against Birmingham was overturned.
Opposition lowdown
Wigan clinched the League One title last season, finishing two points above second-placed Rotherham United.
The Latics are currently 16th in the Championship table after picking up five points from their opening five league matches.
Leam Richardson’s men recorded a 1-0 win at Birmingham City in their last outing despite playing most of the game with 10 men, with Nathan Broadhead scoring the only goal.
Head-to-head
Burnley have faced Wigan 23 times in their history, with a record of three wins, eight draws and 12 defeats.
Ashley Barnes and Michael Kightly were both on target in a 2-0 victory when the sides last met in April 2014 as the Clarets clinched automatic promotion to the Premier League.
The points were shared when the sides last faced off at the DW Stadium following a goalless draw in December 2013.
