Ian Maatsen misses out through suspension after the Chelsea loanee was sent off at the weekend.
Scott Twine and Kevin Long have been making progress in their respective recoveries but were not involved at the weekend.
Ashley Westwood also remains sidelined after suffering a serious ankle injury near the back end of last season.
As for the hosts, Aiden O’Brien and Elliott Bennett are both unavailable after having operations on hip and ankle injuries respectively.
Opposition lowdown
Shrewsbury are managed by former Burnley boss Steve Cotterill, while Brian Jensen is also part of the backroom staff.
Cotterill’s side are currently 18th in the League One table, having taken five points from their opening five matches.
The Shropshire club suffered a 3-0 defeat against Ipswich Town in their last outing after goals from Tyreece John-Jules, Conor Chaplin and Kayden Jackson.

The last competitive meeting between the sides was in April 1997 when the Shrews ran out 2-1 winners at Gay Meadow.
