Burnley are back at Turf Moor on Saturday afternoon as they host Blackpool in the first of many Lancashire derbies this season.
Vincent Kompany’s men enter the game on the back of a 1-1 draw with Hull City, with Jay Rodriguez scoring his first goal of the campaign.
Team news
Scott Twine, Johann Berg Gudmundsson and Kevin Long are all making good progress in their recoveries from injury.
However, Saturday’s fixture could come too soon for all three players and Ashley Westwood remains sidelined with a long-term injury.
The visitors will be without Charlie Patino and Liewis Fiorini, while Gary Madine will be assessed after missing the last two matches.
Opposition lowdown
Michael Appleton returned to Blackpool for a second spell in charge over the summer following Neil Critchley’s move to Aston Villa to assist Steven Gerrard.
The Seasiders are currently 9th in the Championship table, having picked up six points from their opening four matches.
Appleton’s side enter the game on the back of a 1-0 win at QPR thanks to Josh Bowler’s goal on the stroke of half-time.
Head-to-head
Burnley have faced Blackpool 121 times in their history, with a record of 55 wins, 30 draws and 36 defeats.
The sides haven’t met since April 2014 when Michael Kightly scored the only goal in a 1-0 victory at Bloomfield Road. It was a vital fixture in the race for promotion to the Premier League.
The Clarets also came out on top when the sides last met at Turf Moor, recording a 2-1 win thanks to goals from Danny Ings and Scott Arfield.
