Burnley have completed the signing of Southampton attacker Nathan Tella on a season-long loan.

The 23-year-old could make his debut when the Clarets head to Vicarage Road to take on Watford tomorrow night.

The former Arsenal youngster joined the Saints in 2017, making his senior debut three years later during ‘Project Restart’.

He has gone on to make 40 senior appearances in total for the Saints and will wear the number 23 shirt at Turf Moor.

“Once the opportunity arose for me to come here, this is where my head has been at since,” he told the club’s website.

“I’ve been wanting to play football consistently for a while now and now the opportunity has come up here, it’s one I’m just happy to have.”

Manager Vincent Kompany added: “We’re pleased to add Nathan to our team. He’s a hard-working player, who carries a great threat going forward with his attacking pace.

“I have no doubt that Nathan will fit in fine here and help improve our squad.

"We would like to thank Southampton Football Club for making this possible and we look forward to working with him.”

Tella becomes the Clarets’ 11th signing of the summer as the club aims to bounce back from last season’s relegation from the Premier League.
