Cardiff City boss Steve Morison has confirmed the club has rejected a bid from Burnley for Isaak Davies.

The Clarets reportedly offered £2.5million for the promising young forward, who made 30 appearances last season.

But Morison insists the 20-year-old isn’t for sale and hopes he can play a big part for the Welsh club over the coming season.

Speaking after the 3-0 defeat against Portsmouth, he told Wales Online: "It's got rejected as he's not for sale.”

"Unless a player comes to me and tells me he doesn't want to be here and he wants to leave, then we'll look at the situation.

"But as far as I'm concerned we are not selling our young players for anything."

Davies, who has represented Wales at youth level, missed the entirety of pre-season due to a knee injury.

"Ultimately, his first training session was on Monday,” Morison added.

"We haven't seen him all pre-season, he has been working hard behind the scenes with his injury that he had, and he is still a way off it.

"He still hasn't played a game and has done one training session. It's not something I'm overly worried about. He's not for sale as far as I'm concerned."

Burnley have already brought in 10 fresh faces this summer including Josh Cullen, Scott Twine and Ian Maatsen as the club aims to push for an immediate return to the Premier League.
