Everton are reportedly working on a deal to sign Burnley and Ivory Coast star Maxwel Cornet.
Cornet joined the Clarets from French side Lyon last summer and quickly became a fan favourite in East Lancashire.
The 25-year-old scored nine goals in 28 appearances last season as the Turf Moor club was relegated from the Premier League.
The Merseyside outfit have been in contact over a potential deal for Cornet, according to The Athletic.
The versatile wideman is said to have a £17.5million release clause which became active following relegation.
Everton have already signed James Tarkowski this summer after the defender’s deal at Turf Moor expired.
The Clarets have also lost Ben Mee, Nick Pope and Nathan Collins among others ahead of the upcoming Championship campaign.
However, new boss Vincent Kompany has brought in Scott Twine, Josh Cullen, Samuel Bastien and Taylor Harwood-Bellis, Luke McNally and CJ Egan-Riley so far.
Burnley have also been linked with loan moves for Ian Maatsen and Liam Delap from Chelsea and Manchester City respectively before their opener against Huddersfield Town later this month.
Kompany’s men are in pre-season action this evening as they head to Montgomery Waters Meadow to take on League One side Shrewsbury Town (KO 7pm).
The Shrews are managed by ex-Burnley boss Steve Cotterill, while Brian Jensen is also part of his backroom staff.
