BURNLEY’S Premier League status is on the line as they welcome Eddie Howe’s in-form Newcastle side to Turf Moor.
The Clarets are above the drop zone on goal difference heading into the final day after Thursday night’s 1-1 draw at Aston Villa.
Team news
Mike Jackson is waiting to learn if Jay Rodriguez might be fit as he continues his recovery from a hamstring injury.
Matt Lowton is suspended after receiving a red card at Villa, although the Clarets are likely to appeal the decision.
Meanwhile, the visitors will make late calls on Fabian Schar (head) and former Claret Chris Wood (hip).
Ryan Fraser will also be checked prior to Sunday’s game, while Jonjo Shelvey (calf) and Joe Willock (knee) remain sidelined.
Opposition lowdown
Newcastle enter the game in high spirits following a 2-0 victory against Arsenal in their last outing.
Howe’s men are currently 12th in the Premier League table, having won five of their last seven matches.
Burnley have faced the Magpies 110 times in their history, with a record of 43 wins, 22 draws and 45 defeats.
Newcastle ran out 2-1 winners when the sides met at Turf Moor last season after goals from Jacob Murphy and Allan Saint-Maximin.
Last meeting
The Clarets suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat at St James’ Park back in December on an afternoon to forget in the North East.
Callum Wilson scored the decisive goal five minutes before the break, firing home after Nick Pope had collided with Schar.
Maxwel Cornet and Johann Berg Gudmundsson both went close at the other end as Burnley failed to find an equaliser.
