BOURNEMOUTH boss Scott Parker says his side’s gameplan “went to plan in every aspect” following their 3-0 win against Rovers.
Philip Billing scored twice nine minutes, with Dominic Solanke also getting on the scoresheet for the Cherries.
The result sees Parker’s men take another step towards promotion, while Rovers’ hopes of making the top six are now over.
"We knew Blackburn would have to come at us, the position they were in and what they needed. They needed a result,” he told Dorset Live.
"So we needed to be solid and diligent and all that side of the game, which we showed. Then also knew if the game opened up, we needed to be clinical in our moments.
“And we were definitely that as well. Overall, it was a day that went to plan in every aspect."
Ben Brereton hit the post in the first half and was twice denied by Bournemouth stopper Mark Travers after the break.
"We needed every single one pulling in the right direction and that has certainly been the case for large parts of the season,” Parker added.
“Travs (Mark Travers) today has pulled some saves. Nat (Phillips), Lloyd (Kelly) - everyone showed they needed to get the job done and that was what today was.
“It was definitely a high-pressure game. That’s where you get to at this point of the season when you are competing for what we are competing for.
“The result was key. Performance is secondary at this part of the season – we got a result and we got a performance really.”
Rovers are now ninth in the Championship table and wrap up their campaign with a trip to Birmingham next weekend.
