CHRIS McCann has been called up to the Republic of Ireland Under 21 squad for the UEFA European Championship Qualifier against England next Tuesday.
The 20-year-old midfielder has been included as a late replacement for Blackburn Rovers' Keith Treacy, who has been forced to withdraw through injury.
McCann was in the Irish squad for matches with Montenegro and Bulgaria in November, but returned home early and has yet to win his first cap at this level.
He was blasted by Ireland U21 boss Don Givens after refusing to take his place on the bench for their qualifier against Bulgaria, after being an un-used sub in the Montenegro game.
But the pair appear to have patched up their differences and McCann has been handed a reprieve.
The match against England takes place at Southampton's St Mary's Stadium (kick-off 7.45pm) will be shown live on Sky Sports.
