Burn moved six points clear at the head of the North Lancashire/ Cumbria league table following a scruffy win at Kirkby Lonsdale.
This was the only game to be played in the league as all other scheduled fixtures succumbed to the weather.
The hosts were out of the blocks quicker, trying hard to put pace into the game.
However their light-weight forwards struggled to break the gain line and break down a well organised visiting defence. Having weathered the early storm, Burn then started to impose themselves on the game.
Following a good turnover, centre Maudsley broke out of his own half and kicked ahead. Desperate defence rescued the ball before Burn were penalised for lying on the ball.
However the visitors now had territory and a first score followed. A strong scrummage had the home forwards under pressure before Pearson blasted through some soft tackles to score the first try after 25 minutes.
Bleasdale converted and it was 7-0.
Some strong lineout work brought a second try with Miller being driven over for Burns second try. Bleasdale converted and the lead was 14-0.
Burn were forced into a reshuffle at half time after Pearson was forced from the field after being cynically chopped down at a lineout.
Following some silly errors, Kirkby got themselves back into the game when some poor handling led to a dropped ball and the fly half picked up a loose ball and raced to the try line. The conversion made it 14-7 and things started to become far too loose for the visitor's liking.
Burn composed them-selves. Firstly, Maudsley was denied a try when he was brought down just inches from the line following a superb break, before a lack of focus denied Burn a pushover try as the home scrum started to disintegrate.
However Burn got themselves a penalty right in front of the posts and Bleasdale made no mistake.
With a t10-point lead Burn were able to squeeze out the game, and although not the best of displays, they held on comfortably for another fine two league points.
Rossendale and Burnley's matched were postponed
