Blackburn Rovers chairman John Williams insists manager Mark Hughes is not looking to add another defender to his squad before Thursday's transfer deadline.
Rovers are running short of options in the centre of defence following Chris Samba's booking against Villa, which was his 10th caution of the season.
The giant Congo centre-back is now suspended for two games, missing Saturday's visit of Everton and the trip to Arsenal on February 11, adding to the absence of captain Ryan Nelsen and injured Stephane Henchoz.
It leaves Hughes with just Zurab Khizanishvili and Andre Ooijer, but Williams said Rovers are not looking to recruit any new defenders at this time, having already snapped up Johnny Flynn from Ballymena.
Williams said: "I don't think it's a matter of urgency.
"We've got enough good players there and I don't think we will be looking for people in that area.
"We would not be buying anyone just to act as cover."
