Andrew Flintoff is set to join the England Lions in India, but will not be available for team selection say national media reports.
Flintoff's rehabilitation from a fourth ankle operation has progressed well and he has asked to join the Lions for some outdoor batting practice with ECB coach Dave Houghton according to the Daily Mirror.
England Lions, formerly England A, will take part in the Duleep Trophy in India this month playing a minimum of two three-day games before a possible final on February 19.
A group of Lancashire academy players are also in India this month taking part in a special batting clinic in Mumbai on February 17.
It is understood that Freddie will link up with them before seeing full match action on a pre-season tour to the United Arab Emirates.
