Clitheroe returned to Shawbridge for the first home game since New Year's Day and put in a superb performance to grab the three points with a late goal.

Both sides created plenty of chances in a very entertaining first half but both goalkeepers were in outstanding form and so the interval scoreline remained goalless.

The second half was as good as the first and the Ossett goalkeeper continued to keep out everything thrown at him with James Mann doing the same in the Clitheroe goal.

The referee signalled four minutes of added time and midway through the extra period, impressive debutant Carl Lomax forced yet another superb save from the visiting keeper but this time Mickey Saunders was quick to pounce and he steadied himself before firing the loose ball home into the net from inside the six yard box.

Ossett failed to convert a very late free kick and the Blues took the points.
