A Middlesbrough supporter was sick as he queued to enter Ewood Park for the Premiership game against Blackburn Rovers.
Blackburn magistrates heard that Andrew Appleton was clearly drunk but they decided not to impose a football banning order because he had not caused any trouble.
Appleton, 21, of The Pastures, Middlesborough, pleaded guilty to being drunk entering a designated sports ground. He was fined £200 and ordered to pay £75 costs.
Richard Prew, defending, said his client had a few pints before the game and began to feel well.
"He felt sick and was sick but there is no suggestion had he got into the ground he would have done anything other than watch the match," added Mr Prew.
