MARK Hughes last night insisted David Bentley is going nowhere in the January transfer window - and he plans to reward the midfielder with a new contract early next month.
With less than a week to go before the window shuts, the England international continues to be linked with a big-money move to Newcastle United.
However, Hughes is adamant Bentley's future lies at Ewood, and he plans to give the 23-year-old a bumper new pay deal as recognition for his progress over the last 12 months.
Responding to the recent speculation, a defiant Hughes said: "We are not a selling club. The situation is that he's a Blackburn Rovers player.
"There will be speculation about good players but he won't be going anywhere.
"He signed a new contract 12 months ago but during that time he's stepped up to international level and it's time to reflect that (with a new deal)."
Rovers have already set up a meeting with Bentley's advisers for early next month.
