Andrew Flintoff is setting out on a search for a future England hero by establishing a series of cricket academies for kids around the country this summer.

The 30-year-old England all-rounder has used his time rehabilitating from a persistent ankle problem to implement a series of coaching clinics.

"The game has been very good to me and this is a way for me to put a little bit back in," said Flintoff.

"It would be great if we could find an England star of the future, but more importantly it's giving people a chance to play cricket at whatever level and it's all about spreading the word of the game."

He added: "It's all going to be a reflection on how I want to play cricket, what I like about the game and the emphasis is going to be on enjoying it.

"There will be a technical aspect to it as well, but we'll be giving kids a chance to express themselves and just enjoy what they're doing."

One of the academies will take place at Bolton School on July 21-25.
